Week 13: We distributed 150 kits today to families. Each kit contained:rice, chickpeas, dilute juice, cereal, bagels, cofresh snacks, biscuits, toothpaste and soap. We also had sandwiches donated from the Stockwood Park Academy as well as their donation of cereal and bagels. Thanks to the Luton hygiene bank who donated 45kg worth of toiletries. Tesco donated 5 bags of fruit, veg and bread too! Our increase in the number of food parcels unfortunately is a reflection of the difficult times ahead for so many families. Our queues were forming from 11.40 (distribution starts at 12)! We are now supporting 4 primary schools and 1 secondary school with these kits. We had a local councillor visit us today, along with the CEO and the Mayor of Luton to show their support. The councillor for the South Ward kindly donated some cereal to us. We made Halloween packs for students filled with sweets! I know for so many of our families the love and compassion shown by their teachers and all volunteers is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much ❤️
