Like the illumination of sun throughout the world, these great beings dispel our darkness and suffering. Through their grace, we see the light of our own hearts. Maharaji is unconditional love. Pure and simple. The word Guru is commonly said to be derived from the two roots, gu which refers to darkness and ru which means to remove. That Love, that light, is always right there, but why this world is full of people who take advantage and mislead others? Tulsidas says in great humility, "We are born in the dark age of Kali, where vultures can appear like swans. Some choose to live an immoral life abandoning the teachings of the Vedas instead choosing to follow a life based on desire, untruthfulness, and deceit. I, myself, am the first among them! If I were to recount all of my vices here, it would be never-ending. Therefore, please forgive me and accept my humble prayers. Accept the spirit of my heart and loving devotion and do not despise me for writing this. I am no poet or scholar, I do not proclaim any great talent, I sing the Glories of my Lord, Shri Rama, as they come through me. How can my intellect even begin to describe the limitless glory of Shri Rama, I am like a small piece of cotton that is easily blown about in a hurricane. Knowing all of this, I proceed forth, sharing with you the lila of Shri Rama." The great signs of humility, unconditional love, truth, service, and compassion are like the sun's warmth, without which there is no real spirituality. Our hearts already are love. There is nothing really for us to know. I bow down and pray from the heart to my beloved Guru for everyone's happiness. I bow to Shree Neem Karoli Baba, the ocean of compassion, on this auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. May all be happy. #gurupurnima
